CYMEPA Organizes Beach Clean-Up in Limassol for World Maritime Day
On 24 September 2026, the Cyprus Marine Environment Protection Association (CYMEPA) will host a beach clean-up at Malindi Beach in Limassol to mark World Maritime Day and European Maritime Day. The event, starting at 10:00 a.m., is held under the auspices of Shipping Deputy Minister Marina Hadjimanolis and unites various organisations from the shipping sector, business community, and marine preservation groups.
Participants include the Cyprus Shipping Chamber, Cyprus Union of Shipowners, Limassol Chamber of Commerce & Industry, and other prominent maritime organisations. The initiative, part of the #potavristou campaign, not only focuses on cleaning the beach but also emphasizes the shared responsibility of protecting coastlines through cooperation between society, the shipping industry, and organised bodies.
Sponsored by the Stelios Philanthropic Foundation, volunteers will receive T-shirts, caps, gloves, and bags for the clean-up effort. CYMEPA continues to foster environmental awareness and encourage active participation to safeguard the marine and coastal environment.
