Two arrested in island-wide police operations targeting illegal stay and traffic violations
Two individuals were arrested during extensive police operations across Cyprus on Thursday night for offences including illegal stay and outstanding fine warrants. The operations involved checks on 521 drivers and 140 passengers, as well as inspections of 52 premises, leading to five complaints. Authorities filed a total of 248 complaints related to various traffic violations, with 62 cases involving exceeding the speed limit. Nine vehicles were impounded during the process. Additionally, 119 alcohol tests were conducted, all returning negative results, while two preliminary drug tests were positive. These targeted efforts aim to enhance public safety and enforce the law throughout the island.
