Secondary Education Parents in Larnaca Demand Immediate Action Over Repeated School Bus Cancellations
The Association of Secondary Education Parents in Larnaca has condemned the ongoing cancellations of school bus routes, which have left hundreds of students without transportation and disrupted their education. They called for urgent intervention from the Transport Ministry to resolve the issue promptly.
Since the start of the school year, numerous routes have been cancelled without notice, forcing students to miss school. The association accused Cyprus Public Transport, the company responsible for school bus services in the Larnaca district, of failing to meet its contractual obligations despite families paying the required fares. They emphasized that denying students safe and reliable transportation is unacceptable.
Parents warned that recurring service disruptions are not justified by prior problems or delays and called for a permanent solution to prevent future cancellations. They stressed that students should not be penalized or deprived of access to education and urged authorities to restore all routes immediately to avoid further consequences.
