Demetra Holdings Reports Lower H1 2026 Net Profit Amid Investment Losses Despite Rental Income Growth
Demetra Holdings announced a net profit after tax of €6.87 million for the first half of 2026, down from €10.22 million in the same period last year. The decline was largely due to losses on equity investments, which amounted to €2.18 million, reversing a €7.96 million profit in H1 2025. However, the company benefited from stronger rental income, which rose 31.2% to €1.59 million, driven by the acquisition of a €30.50 million office building in March 2025.
Finance costs fell sharply by 86.6% to €80,616 after the full repayment of all loan facilities in February 2026. Despite the reduced profitability, Demetra’s net asset value per share increased by 1.5% to 259.30 cents as of June 30, 2026. The group’s total assets were slightly higher at €522.66 million compared to €521.14 million at the end of 2025. Operating expenses saw a modest increase of 2.3% to €1.17 million.
The company also recognized €6.05 million in negative goodwill from a subsidiary acquisition during the period, reflecting the acquisition’s asset value exceeding the purchase price. Dividend income surged significantly to €15,677 from €940 in the prior year, while interest income declined by 4.6% due to lower interest rates in 2026.
