Vehicle engulfed in flames in Kato Moni area of Nicosia district
A vehicle caught fire on Wednesday evening in the Kato Moni area of the Nicosia district, but the driver safely escaped without injury. The fire department received a call at 6:24 pm and dispatched two fire engines from the Lakatamia station to the scene. The fire was brought under control by 6:54 pm, but the vehicle suffered extensive damage due to the flames and heat. A small area of nearby dry grass and wild vegetation was also affected by the fire.
The fire department reported responding to 27 calls for assistance between 6 am Wednesday and 6 am Thursday. These included 14 fires, 12 cases requiring special services, and one false alarm, highlighting a busy day for emergency responders.
