Trial of Paphos Mayor Phedonas Phedonos Continues with Key Witnesses Testifying
The trial of suspended Paphos mayor Phedonas Phedonos is ongoing at the Paphos criminal court, with key prosecution witnesses scheduled to testify on Thursday. The hearing, which began in late July, is being conducted behind closed doors following a court order granting the prosecution's request.
So far, over ten prosecution witnesses, including police investigators and experts, have given their testimonies. During the previous session, three witnesses testified. Phedonas faces five serious charges, including rape, indecent assault, assault causing bodily harm, and administering a drug or substance that could reduce a person's resistance.
The accused has pleaded not guilty to all charges. The court proceedings aim to gather critical evidence before moving forward with the case.
