Cyprus and Greece are collaborating on new joint business initiatives aimed at expanding access to Arab and Balkan markets. These plans follow meetings in Nicosia between Greek Deputy Foreign Minister Harry Theoharis and the Cyprus-Greece Business Association. The discussions focused on economic diplomacy, investment, and preparing businesses to enter third-country markets.
Theoharis highlighted the significant growth in economic cooperation between the two countries, which has eased market entry for Cypriot and Greek companies. The current strategy envisions Cyprus as a gateway for Greek firms to the Arab world, while Greece would facilitate Cypriot access to the Balkans. The initiative also includes proposals for joint tourism packages targeting distant markets such as the US, China, and Japan, promoting Cyprus and Greece as a combined destination.
Trade between Cyprus and Greece already reached €3.3 billion in 2025, with exports of goods and services showing marked increases. Both nations are now aiming to deepen investment ties and jointly promote their economic interests abroad, using their strong bilateral relationship as a foundation for broader international cooperation.
