Cyprus Businesses Must Switch to CY Connect for Customs by October 30
Cyprus businesses using direct electronic links with Customs must switch their systems to CY Connect by October 30, when the existing Message Gateway for Union Customs Code (UCC) Business-to-Government (B2G) services will be permanently deactivated. This deadline follows an earlier extension aimed at allowing companies more time to complete the technical transition.
The change affects companies whose IT systems communicate directly with Customs, such as importers, exporters, freight forwarders, customs representatives, and carriers. CY Connect is part of the government’s digital infrastructure, enabling secure data exchange between interconnected public service systems in line with the government’s “Once Only” approach.
Customs authorities emphasized that companies must complete the switch to CY Connect and ensure their production traffic uses the new platform before the cut-off. Authentication will be done at the company system level rather than individual users, requiring some firms to adjust their software configurations accordingly. For assistance, businesses can contact the Department of Information Technology Services.
